Why Therapy?

You might be going through current struggles or a recent crisis. Maybe it’s time to face “ghosts from the past.” Or perhaps life’s trials are piling up and becoming too much to bear. It might be time to make a change, or learn how to cope with the things you cannot change. Let me help you with that.

Naturally, seeking help from a stranger can be intimidating and scary. Almost everyone feels nervous at the idea of talking to someone about his or her personal life, especially when something’s not right. Society seems to enforce the idea that we should all be strong, successful, happy, and able to handle life’s challenges on our own. In reality, for most, that’s a façade. Feelings of weakness and unworthiness abound in our society. Negative feelings can influence our inner personal thoughts and may eventually become extremely overwhelming, often leaving us in a place of conflict, turmoil, distress, and confusion. It is important to seek help (regardless of how ‘big’ or ‘small’ you think the situation may be) in order to resolve conflicts, to make changes, to deal with unchangeable circumstances, or to tackle whatever a situation may warrant.

Instead of my trying to convince you of this, I’ll leave it to one of my past clients (anonymous, of course) to state reasons for choosing therapy:

    1. To unravel the many undiscovered layers of oneself
    2. To disclose “to unbiased ears” personal feelings and emotions in a safe and trusting environment
    3. To seek professional guidance and support when you feel you are standing alone in the world
    4. To be completely vulnerable without being judged

So … Why Go to Therapy?? …
…Because it works!
